Robert Steel (1827-1893), born in Monmouthshire, and initially a Free Church of Scotland minister, was ministering in Cheltenham, England, at the time of publication, and later emigrated to Australia to the Free Church in Sydney, being involved in 1865 in the founding of the Presbyterian Church of New South Wales. Average . 93 pages, brief notes and references, working through the whole book. It seems from elsewhere that Keymer was a High Anglican, and one contemporary Baptist review of this book suggests that there is a tendency to mysticism in some of his interpretations. GBP 3.75

MacDuff, besides being a well-known writer, was a Church of Scotland minister from 1843 to 1870. The book contains 12 communion sermons, 7 other meditations and addresses and a foreword and appendix about the history and practice of the celebration of the Lord's Supper, both in the Early Church and in Scotland.
