Good . 320 pages, illustrated, attractive binding of green cloth with gilt and floral decoration, gilt edges. Front internal hinge weakened, edges of binding slightly bumped. Rust in stapled construction just starting to show through, but book still in remarkably good condition for this binding method. Undated, but accompanying advertising leaflet about other books from the publisher mentions changed biological opinion since 1899, including the modifications of Weismann's position, suggesting a print date in the 20th century, but before 1914 when Weismann died. £5.75
