Poor . 705 pages, large print, translated by H White and carefully revised by D'Aubigne (Vol 4 written in English by D'Aubigne with White's help). Covers the period up to 1530 on the continent of Europe, i.e. Germany, France, and Switzerland. D'Aubigne, a French Huguenot involved in the Haldane awakening in Geneva, lived 1794-1872. Quite a lot of untidy pen underlining and annotation by D A MacFarlane, late Free Presbyterian minister of Dingwall, who owned the book from 1912 to his death in 1979. GBP 2.75

Top half of leather spine missing, a fair bit of pencil and some pen underlining and annotation by D A MacFarlane, late Free Presbyterian minister of Dingwall (book previously owned by Duncan McGorm and W B Nicholson). John Dick (1764-1833) was a seceder professor and minister, and a uniting force, at least in Glasgow, between the various factions which had arisen amongs the Secession (old and new lights, burghers and antiburghers).
