Average Plus . 3 volumes of 600+ pages each, black leather spines and corners, numerous black and white illustrations throughout, including full page illustrations; a few full page Victorian photos not present in earlier editions. Spine leather rubbed (could be restored) and has a slight damage to one of the red title labels; corners bumped and a bit worn. Because of the thickness of the paper these volumes are thinner than the average edition of this set, however the paper is not of particularly high quality and is somewhat browned though not in poor condition; some foxing especially to endpapers and edges.
