Debt and personal slavery

I'm not into "health and wealth" teaching, and certainly don't believe that if you're doing right you will automatically be prosperous - though I do believe that the general trend of a Christian way of life is towards less money being wasted, so that may or may not result in greater wealth, it will depend on a host of other factors in God's providence and training of his children to depend on him.

The Bible teaches us to work so that we may earn income and have resources to give to those who are in need (Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth - Ephesians 4:28).  Now those who are in greatest need don't include the Royal Bank of Scotland or Bank of America, much as those institutions may be useful!  With that in mind, I think this article has some interesting ideas:
